- Competition: Friendly International
- Date: Sunday, 7th June, 2026
- Kickoff: 14:00 UK / 15:00 CEST
- Venue: Rheinpark Stadion (Vaduz)
On Sunday afternoon, two teams that were nowhere near reaching the World Cup, Liechtenstein and Cyprus, will face off in a friendly game. That will be their first h2h meeting ever. Liechtenstein comes into the game after a 2:0 loss to Andorra, while Cyprus recorded a surprising draw with Slovenia in Ljubljana.
Let's break down the game and find the best possible bet for this Friendly International tie.
Liechtenstein team overview
Liechtenstein are 206th team on the FIFA World Ranking List and have never reached any major tournament. That will hardly change any time soon, considering they are one of the worst national teams in the World. In the last UEFA Nations League campaign, they proved that as they finished last in a group with San Marino and Gibraltar! In the WC Qualifiers, they, expectedly, lost all eight games with a devastating goal difference of 0:31. Scoring a goal for this team is a success itself, which says a lot about them.
Interestingly, the team is without their captain and vice-captain from the previous period - Nicolas Hasler and Benjamin Büchel. The duo is among the oldest players on the team and will skip these friendlies in June.

Cyprus team overview
Cyprus are number 126 on the FIFA World Ranking List. Like Liechtenstein, they have never appeared in any major tournaments but are still a significantly better team than Liechtenstein. In the previous period, they had some solid results like winning eight points in eight rounds in the WC Qualifiers, securing draws with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania. They have also played in UEFA Nations League C and finished 3rd, securing their place in League C for next season as well. So, even though their FIFA Ranking is far from good, Cyprus are doing a solid job, and the improvement is evident.
After a 1:1 draw with Slovenia, coach Apostolos Mantzios spoke to the media. He was pleased with the performance and the result, especially considering they earned a draw away from home and played with ten men for a large part of the game. The coach praised the team for their mentality and the defensive organization.

Prediction
Liechtenstein have been atrocious in the previous year and a half. They have lost 14 of their past 15 games and by two or more goals on 11 occasions. Some of their losses were against really bad national teams. Also, at home, it seems they are even worse for some reason, considering they lost six in a row with a combined goal difference of 1:19. That is, on average, more than 3 allowed goals per game!
Meanwhile, Cyprus have had some solid games lately, having two wins, three draws, and three losses. It isn't an impressive run by any means, but it is still miles away from Liechtenstein's terrible record. Also, Cyprus absolutely trashed San Marino in the World Cup Qualifiers, beating them 6:0 in two games. For comparison, San Marino is somewhere around Liechtenstein's level, even beating them in the past two H2H games.
Considering all the above, we believe Cyprus is a better team overall and should dominate this game against struggling Liechtenstein.
3 Reasons why Cyprus should win and cover the -1.5 AH spread
- Liechtenstein lost 14 of the past 15 games
- Liechtenstein lost all eight games in the WC Qualifiers with a combined goal difference of 0:31
- Cyprus won and drew one in the previous two games against Moldova and Slovenia
