International action takes place in Tbilisi on Friday evening as Georgia take on Bahrain in a non-competitive encounter.
The Mikheil Meskhi Stadium is the venue for this friendly fixture between two nations sitting out this summer’s World Cup finals.
Set to meet for the first time, both sides will be keen to pick up a positive result ahead of more important fixtures later in the year.
Georgia team overview
Georgia return to international friendly action after extending their unbeaten run to three matches with a 1:1 draw against Romania on Tuesday. Giorgi Kvilitaia opened the scoring before Louis Munteanu’s goal secured a share of the spoils for the visitors.
Before Tuesday’s draw, the Georgians also picked up a 2:2 draw against Israel in a friendly in March before a well-deserved 2:0 road victory against Lithuania.
A lack of clean sheets has been the biggest issue for Georgia in the past year. Willy Sagnol’s side conceded at least one goal in eight of ten internationals since June 2025. BTTS landed in four of their last six games, and a similar outcome has a good chance this week.
Head Coach Sagnol is likely to make changes from the side held by Romania on Tuesday. Champions League winning forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is likely to come into the first XI after being rested against the Romanians.

Bahrain team overview
Bahrain come into Friday’s friendly fixture looking for an improvement in performance after a first-round elimination at the Arab Cup last December. Dragan Talajić’s side fell to a 2:1 defeat against Iraq and a 5:1 beat-down against Algeria.
The Red have endured a miserable run of form in the past year or so, with ten defeats and only two wins recorded from their last 13 international fixtures.
Like the home side, clean sheets have been a rarity. Bahrain conceded at least one goal in all but one of 14 previous matches since the start of 2025. BTTS has been a frequent occurrence, including in four of their last five games.
Head coach Talaji has a 26-man squad available for Friday’s friendly fixture. Experienced midfielder Sayed Dhiya Saeed is expected to win his 122nd international cap.

Prediction
Both teams rarely keep clean sheets, suggesting there could be some value in a both teams to score pick this week.
I have my stake on BTTS at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium.
Three Reasons Why We Expect BTTS
- Georgia have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 6 matches
- Bahrain have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 matches
- Bahrain have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 5 away matches
Main prediction -
Both Teams to Score
