Sweden come into Thursday’s international friendly fixture in need of a response after a dismal showing in their 3:1 defeat at Norway on Monday. Trailing by three at the break, the Swedes had to dig deep to avoid a more heavy defeat in Oslo.

Before that disappointment, Sweden secured their place in the World Cup finals with a pair of thrilling playoff victories in March. Graham Potter’s side claimed an impressive 3:1 road win against Ukraine before sealing their place in the Americas with a dramatic 3:2 win against Poland.

Unbeaten in three of their last four fixtures, the Swedes now face their final home friendly before upcoming World Cup contests against Tunisia, Netherlands and Japan.

Head coach Potter has a few injury issues this week. Carl Starfelt (back), Emil Holm (muscle), Gabriel Gudmundsson (hamstring) and Elliot Stroud (groin) are all unavailable.

Greece arrive in Stockholm after a pair of disappointing friendly results in their last fixtures in March. The Greeks slipped to a 1:0 home defeat against Paraguay before a goalless draw against Hungary. 

After impressive Nations League performances in 2024 and 2025, the Greeks had high hopes of returning to the World Cup finals this summer. However, a disappointing qualification campaign saw Ivan Jovanović’s men finish third in their section behind Scotland and Denmark.

Out-of-form in the past year, Greece lost four and won just one of seven games played since September 2025. The Greeks also slipped to a 3:1 defeat against Denmark in their most recent trip to Scandinavia. 

Head coach Jovanovic has three injury issues this week. Andreas Tetteh is ruled out with a muscle injury, while Konstantinos Karetsas (ankle) and Kostas Tsimikas (virus) will be assessed closer to kick-off.
