Since returning to Serie A in 2022, Lecce has been consistently among the worst teams in the competition, but has always avoided relegation. He said, "We didn't start very well; there was probably a bit of tension, but I think the first half was balanced and decided by a few episodes, which shifted things a bit in Parma's favor. In the second half, it was a one-sided match. We made 47 crosses and had 29 touches in the box, 13 shots of which only two were on target: it's clear that in the final 20–25 meters there is room for improvement, and a desire to be more incisive and aggressive in order to get ourselves back into the game."

M'Bala Nzola received a red card late in the second half and will not play on Friday in Lecce. Also, Calvin Stengs, Juan Cuadrado, and Daniel Denoon will skip the game due to injuries.
