Granada vs Gijon prediction 30.05.2026 | La Liga 2

Almost half of the 2025/26 season, Granada spent in the relegation zone, and they will be very satisfied with a mid-table finish. However, Pacheta's team again struggled in the previous weeks with five defeats in the last six matches, and can be very happy that they already secured a safe position. In the most recent outing, Granada lost 3-1 on the road against Mirandes. Although the guests dominated in the second half, their terrible first 45 minutes were enough to lose again.

After a defeat in the previous round, Granada's head coach, Pacheta, made it clear that these matches would determine the future of some players. Oscar Naasei is with the Ghana national team, preparing for the World Cup, and will not play on Saturday night. Granada will also be without Pedro Aleman, Bambo Diaby, Alvaro Lemos, Jorge Pascual, Loic Williams, Luca Zidane, and Rayan Zinebi.

For most of the season, Gijon were close to the promotion playoff zone, but a lack of consistency during the spring cost them a better position than mid-table. Gijon has had many problems recently, but six points in the last two matches suggest that Borja Jimenez's team has finally returned to form. In the previous game, Gijon won 3-1 at home against Almeria. The teams were pretty even in that game, but the hosts' much better efficiency was enough for all three points. 

Gijon's head coach, Borja Jimenez, announced that he will not continue with the team next year. After that, the board responded quickly and appointed Nicolas Larcamon. The Argentinian previously led Mexican Cruz Azul. 

Diego Sanchez, Guille Rosas, Nacho Martin, Mamadou Ndiaye, and Andres Ferrari are unavailable for the trip to Granada, while Dani Queipo is questionable.
