Fiorentina vs Genoa prediction 10.05.2026 | Serie A

For a large portion of the season, Fiorentina spent in the relegation zone. However, a big turnaround in form was enough for the team from Florence to secure another year in Serie A. Fiorentina returned to their worst form of the season in the last three matches, in which they collected only two points. In the most recent outing, Vanoli's team lost 4-0 on the road against AS Roma. The guests ended with xG of 0.13 and would feel pretty unfair if they found a way to avoid defeat. 

Although Paolo Vanoli, who was appointed in November, saved Fiorentina from relegation, the board will likely part ways with the head coach. They feel that the teams had to do even better, especially in Coppa Italia and the Conference League. The primary candidates to replace Vanoli are Genoa's Daniele De Rossi and Fabio Grosso of Sassuolo. 

Fiorentina could have almost the full squad for Sunday afternoon. Tariq Lamptey is unavailable due to injury, while Luis Balbo, Niccolo Fortini, Moise Kean, and Roberto Piccoli are questionable, and their statuses will get clearer closer to the kickoff. 

Genoa's story for the 2025/26 season is not much different than Fiorentina's. They spent some time at the bottom of the standings, but Daniele De Rossi's team was good enough in the previous months to calmly wait for the end of the campaign. Genoa lost only one of the last four matches. In the previous game, they played 0-0 on the road against Atalanta. The hosts dominated, but the visitors defended well and found a way to one point. 

There is a lot of talk about Daniele De Rossi's future in Genoa. However, the head coach said that he is willing to stay in the club if the squad is strong enough. 

Genoa will be without Munior Messias on Sunday in Florence. Also, Tomasso Baldanzi and Brooke Norton-Cuffy are questionable for the upcoming clash.
