UCL qualification action takes place on Wednesday evening as Moldovan hosts CS Petrocub take on Albanian visitors Egnatia.
The hosts come into this first-leg contest after a superb win against Milsami in their most recent Moldovan Super Liga fixture while Egnatia make the trip to Chisinau after a friendly victory against FC Botosani in their most recent outing.
With both sides arriving in winning form, a competitive first-leg contest should develop at Stadionul Zimbru.
CS Petrocub team overview
CS Petrocub return to Champions League qualification after a strong start to the defence of their Moldovan title.
The Lions were in excellent form last time out, easing to a 5:0 win against Milsami in the Super Liga. That victory followed a 2:1 win against Dacia Buiucani on the opening day of the new season.
The two-time Moldovan champions secured their place in this season’s Champions League after finishing four points clear of Sheriff last season.
Head coach Andrei Martin is likely to keep faith with much of the side that eased past Milsami.
The hosts have also been active in the transfer market. Ion Botnari, Cristian Avram, Maxim Iosipoi and Mihail Platica are among the new faces likely to feature this week.

Egnatia team overview
Egnatia arrive in Moldova having yet to begin their domestic season in Albania. Nevil Dede’s side have completed two pre-season friendly fixtures in the past month.
The Albanian champions claimed a 3:1 friendly victory against FC Botosani following a 3:2 reversal against Bulgarian opponents CSKA Sofia.
Egnatia finished last season in mixed form, despite claiming their third successive Albanian title. Ded’s men won their last three games to win the competition on goal difference. They had lost five of six previous league fixtures.
The visitors have some new addictions this weekend. Summer recruits Afonso Rodrigues and Levan Tandilashvili are among those available for selection.
Head coach Dede has no reported injury issues.
