Every club in Europe dreams of competing in the Champions League, and Sabah and TNS are no exceptions. These two teams will meet on Tuesday evening, on their first step on their quest to reach the most prestigious competition on the continent. Can the hosts make the most of their home advantage and secure a valuable victory? Let's break down the match and find the best betting option.
Sabah team overview
Although founded only eight years ago, Sabah already won its first championship title in Azerbaijan. The club from Masazir surprisingly ended nine points ahead of the strongest national club in the 21st century, Qarabag. In previous years, Sabah regularly played in Europa and Conference League qualification rounds but never reached the group stage. They hope to change that in the 2026/27 campaign. Last year, their Europa League journey ended against Celje, while their Conference League hopes were dashed by Levski Sofia.
Sabah didn't play well in three friendly matches this summer, with two draws and one defeat. In the most recent test, Sabah lost 4-1 against Polissya Zhytomyr.
Sabah are very active in the summer transfer window. The club mostly left players who didn't have a big role last year. On the other hand, Valdas Dambrauskas' team made a few very interesting signings. Maybe the most interesting addition is Aden McCarthy, who came from South African Kaizer Chiefs. The center-back appeared in 31 matches across all competitions last season. Sabah have also signed so far Xander Severina (who came from Maccabi Haifa), Junior Almeida (Marítimo), Rodrigo Fernandes (Shamakhi), and Younes Lachaab (Lille B).

TNS team overview
Last season, TNS won the 18th championship title in Wales. They didn't have a real opponent in the previous campaign, as Craig Harrison's team ended with 22 points more than the next team in the standings. TNS regularly plays in the qualifying rounds of European competitions, and their biggest success came two years ago, when the club from Oswestry reached the Conference League group stage. Last year, TNS first lost against Shkendija in the Champions League and then to Differdange in the Conference League qualifications.
TNS have had two tests so far this summer and are undefeated. In the previous game, TNS won 2-1 against H&W Welders.
Three valuable players from the last season, Harrison McGahey, Jordan Marshall, and Ken Charles, left TNS this summer, but it seems that the team found solid replacements. The most interesting addition is Rhys Hughes, who last season ended with 15 goals and 12 assists for Connah's Quay Nomads. TNS also added Dynel Simeu (who came from Oldham), Brad Young (Caernarfon), Jesurun Uchegbulam (Chelmsford), and Zach Nolan (without a club).

Prediction
Both teams showed a solid attacking potential in friendly matches this summer. Interestingly, they scored in every game they played. At the same time, neither side has looked particularly convincing defensively, conceding at least once in each of those matches. We should expect goals on both sides in the upcoming tie.
3 Reasons why we should expect both teams to score in this match
- Sabah scored at least one goal in every friendly match this summer
- Sabah conceded six goals in three test games
- TNS scored three goals in two friendly matches
