Tre Fiori is the most successful team in San Marino with nine titles. The last few seasons weren't good for them, but in the previous campaign, Danilo Girolomoni's team returned to the domestic football throne after six years. However, it was far from easy, as Tre Fiori ended only one point ahead of Virtus. The club from San Marino didn't have much success in the European competition qualifiers, progressing only twice to the next round. Last season, Tre Fiori lost 5-1 to Pyunik in the Conference League qualifications.

Tre Fiori are probably weaker than they were last season. The team left too many important pieces from the previous year, including one of the most exciting youngsters in San Marino football, Nicko Sensoli. On the other hand, Tre Fiori signed Mohamed Ben Kacem (who came from Florentino), Alessandro D'Addario (Tre Penne), and Andrea Mingucci (without a club for the last two years).

Larne won all three of their Northern Ireland Premiership titles in the last four seasons. In the previous campaign, they ended three points ahead of the closest opponent, Coleraine. Larne had an outstanding run in the qualifiers two years ago, when they even reached the Conference League group stage. Larne hopes to do something similar this year. 

Larne had three matches in preseason and recorded two wins with one draw. A few days ago, they had their official game of the season, when they triumphed after penalties in the Northern Irish Super Cup against Coleraine. The first trophy of the season should be a confidence boost ahead of the trip to San Marino. 

Some important players left Larne this summer, but it seems that the Northern Irish champions signed solid replacements. The most intriguing is Kevin O'Hara, a forward who had 12 goals and 10 assists for Hamilton in the Scottish League One.
