Brazil team overview
Brazil, a five-time World Cup champion, won its last title in 2002 in South Korea and Japan. After that, a noticeable decline in their results followed, and they are eager to change that, this time under the famous Carlo Ancelotti. However, many suggest that this team isn't as good as we are used to them and that winning another title won't be an easy task. The fact that they finished 5th out of ten teams in the South American Qualifiers says a lot. Still, we can never count them out, and at the moment, the bookies see them as the fifth-favorite for the title, behind Spain, France, England, and Argentina.
The biggest question these days is whether Neymar will get the call for the upcoming WC. The 32-year-old was included in the 26-man squad but suffered a calf injury, which will keep him off the field for the upcoming two weeks.

Panama team overview
Panama managed to qualify for the World Cup, their second in the past three tournaments. The popular Canal Men had an excellent Qualifiers, securing the WC in a group with Suriname, Guatemala, and El Salvador. However, to be fair, we cannot really say the group was too challenging. In the WC, they are in a group with Ghana, Croatia, and England, and it will be super hard for them to reach the next phase. Even though they are considered one of the weakest teams in the WC, they had a good preparation period, losing just to Mexico in four friendlies.

Prediction
Brazil played six friendlies between World Cup Qualifiers and the World Cup. They managed to win three of those and covered the -1.5 AH spread in all three of them. Their last win, 3:1 over one of the best teams in the World in recent years, Croatia, was particularly impressive. To be fair, their results could have been better, but we still believe they are capable of dominating teams like Panama.
Panama secured one win, two draws, and one loss in four friendlies against solid competition. However, they did haven't play as well as the results suggest, and it is unrealistic to expect a great performance on the road against one of the World Cup favorites.
Brazil won two of the previous three H2H games with a combined goal difference of 6:0 in those two wins. Considering all the above, we expect Brazil to dominate the game and win comfortably at home at Maracanã.
3 Reasons why Brazil should win and cover the -2 AH spread
- Brazil won three of the past six games, each time by a 2+ goal difference
- Brazil won four home games in a row across competitions
- Brazil won two out of three H2H games
