The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway, and today two other hosts, Canada and the United States, will try to follow in the footsteps of Mexico and earn their first victories. As usual, MightyTips provides a World Cup value bet of the day and a risky parlay of the day, makes a prediction on all games of the Matchday, and shares some interesting facts about the tournament.

Match 3: Canada - Bosnia-Herzegovina, 21:00 CET, June 12
Match 4: USA - Paraguay, 03:00 CET, June 13
Sometimes the easiest option is also the right one, and that’s exactly what I think when looking at the game between the USA and Paraguay. Cheered by the sold-out SoFi Stadium, the hosts should earn all three points in this one. They simply have more class and experience, and their coach, Mauricio Pochettino, is another major factor. The sides met in a friendly last November, and the United States not only won 2-1, but completely outplayed their opponents. USA to win at 1.90 looks just fine for me.
An intriguing tactical battle is on the cards in Toronto. Canada’s pace in transition and willingness to attack through wide areas could test Bosnia-Herzegovina’s defensive organization, particularly when possession changes hands quickly. Bosnia-Herzegovina, meanwhile, will look to control stretches of the game through patient build-up play and technical quality in midfield.
The contest in the center of the pitch may prove especially important, as both teams rely on their midfielders to set the tempo and create opportunities. Canada suffered a huge blow ahead of the game, as their captain Alphonso Davies was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. The Bosnians will rely on the 40-year-old talismanic striker Edin Džeko, who will try to score his second World Cup goal, 12 years after the first one.
This matchup offers an interesting contrast between the USA’s energetic, high-tempo approach and Paraguay’s organized, physical style. The Americans will look to move the ball quickly and use their athleticism to create chances in open space. Paraguay traditionally thrives on defensive structure and pressing.
One key area to watch is how effectively the USA can break through compact defensive lines without becoming vulnerable to counterattacks. Paraguay’s ability to disrupt rhythm and win important midfield battles could be equally significant. Individual duels across the pitch, particularly in wide areas, may shape the flow of the game and reveal which side can impose its preferred style.

One of the team's most influential attacking players, Pulisic has the ability to change a game through his dribbling, creativity, and movement in the final third. Against a disciplined Paraguayan side, his ability to find space and unlock compact defensive structures could be especially important. A Champions League winner with Chelsea in 2021, Pulisic could become the fourth-best goalscorer in US national team history if he finds the net tonight.

The USA and Paraguay share a unique piece of World Cup history dating back to the inaugural tournament in 1930. When the two nations met in Montevideo, the United States won 3-0 thanks to three goals by Bert Patenaude. That was the first hat-trick in the history of the tournament.
