Since securing World Cup qualification last year, Gustavo Alfaro’s side have had mixed results in the international friendly arena. Paraguay won three and lost three of seven friendlies since last October.

BTTS landed in four of those seven friendlies, while Paraguay kept just one clean sheet. The South Americans slipped to a 2:1 defeat on their last visit to the US in November of last year, and they will need to find their best form to avoid a similar outcome this weekend. 

Head coach Alfaro has no reported injury issues for Paraguay’s World Cup opener in Los Angeles. Miguel Almiron is poised to win his 77th cap, while Julio Enciso, Antonio Sanabria and Ramón Sosa are expected to feature in the South American’s attack.
