Catanzaro vs Modena prediction 14.04.2026 | Serie B

Catanzaro finished 5th and 6th in the previous two years after arriving from Serie C. Unfortunately, they failed to come out of the Playoffs in those two seasons and are hoping the third is the charm. Right now, after 33 rounds, they are in 5th place with 54 points, three points behind 6th-placed Modena. With a possible win here, they would likely end up 5th and have (in theory) an easier duel in the first round of the playoffs. 

Central defender Niccolo Brighenti received a red card in the previous match against Avellino and will serve his one-game suspension. Additionally, midfielder Jacopo Petriccione suffered an injury in the previous game and had to leave the field after only half an hour. He will most likely miss the match along with Alphadjo Cisse and Marco D'Alessandro, who will remain sidelined with their injuries. 

On the positive side, Gabriele Alesi, Tommaso Cassandro, and Filippo Pittarello all served their one-game suspension in the previous match and will be available. 

Modena achieved a return to Serie B in the 2021/22 season and were only a mid-table team in the following three seasons, finishing 10th (twice) and 11th. This year, it seems they will finally reach the playoffs, as they sit in 6th place with 51 points. At the moment, they are nine points away from dropping out of the playoff spots and have played one game less. So, we can safely say they are locked for the Playoffs this season, and their primary goal is (almost) achieved.

Right full/wing-back Gady Beyuku received his fifth yellow card and will serve his one-game suspension. However, he is not a key part of the squad, unlike goalkeeper Leandro Chichizola, who suffered an injury in the previous game and had to leave the field after only ten minutes. His potential absence could be a massive factor in this duel. 

Additionally, Gregoire Defrel, Ettore Gliozzi, and Alessandro Sersanti should remain sidelined with their injuries.
