Brest and Strasbourg meet on Wednesday evening with very little pressure hanging over either side, which can sometimes make matches like this strangely difficult to read. Brest sit 12th, Strasbourg four places higher in 8th, though the nine-point gap feels less dramatic when you look at recent form. Bookmakers seem undecided too, and honestly, that hesitation makes sense given how inconsistent both teams have looked lately.

Brest and Strasbourg have faced each other 11 times since 2020. Les Pirates hold a slight edge with four wins, while Strasbourg have three. Four matches ended level. The numbers suggest fairly cautious games too, with the average sitting at 2.45 goals per meeting.
Brest team overview
Brest almost pulled off something impressive last weekend against PSG, holding the champions scoreless until the 82nd minute before Désiré Doué finally broke through.
The narrow defeat stretched Les Pirates’ winless run to seven matches, and there is probably some frustration in the fact they competed fairly well without getting rewarded.
Goals have become an issue. Éric Roy’s side failed to score for a second straight match and have now gone seven games without a clean sheet either, which says quite a lot about where the balance currently sits.
At Stade Francis-Le Blé, however, the picture is a little calmer. Brest lost only one of the last five home matches, winning three.
Ludovic Ajorque remains central to almost everything going forward, contributing seven goals and nine assists this season. Junior and Castillo should support him from wide areas again.
Bradley Locko misses out with a hamstring injury, while Soumaïla Coulibaly remains sidelined because of a shin problem.

Strasbourg team overview
Strasbourg’s recent form has not exactly inspired much confidence either. Le Racing have managed just one win in the last seven matches across all competitions, and even that run feels slightly kinder when you watch some of the performances closely.
Last weekend brought a 1-1 draw after Gary O’Neil’s side led at half-time through a Julio Enciso penalty. In another moment, perhaps a few weeks earlier, Strasbourg might have held on comfortably. Instead, the game drifted again. Still, ending a three-match losing streak probably mattered mentally more than tactically.
Away form, interestingly enough, has been stronger. Strasbourg are unbeaten in four Ligue 1 away matches and won the last two, which adds a bit of uncertainty heading into Brest. Martial Godo, with eight league goals, should continue up front alongside Sam Amo-Ameyaw, who adds energy more than pure numbers at times.
Injuries remain a concern. Joaquín Panichelli, Aarón Anselmino, and Emmanuel Emegha are all unavailable, limiting depth in attack and defence alike.

Prediction
A 1-1 draw feels about right here. Brest have not exactly been convincing in recent weeks, yet the side still compete with more energy at Stade Francis-Le Blé, where defeats have been fairly rare lately.
Strasbourg arrive with decent away form after going four league matches unbeaten on the road. Still, neither back line inspires complete confidence, which probably explains why goals at both ends seem more realistic than a controlled, cautious game.
Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals
- Three of the last four meetings between Brest and Strasbourg ended with under 2.5 goals.
- Bets on under 2.5 goals won in four of the last six games of Strasbourg.
- Brest averaged one goal a game over the course of their last four matches.
Main prediction Brest - Strasbourg
Under 2.5 goals
