Brest almost pulled off something impressive last weekend against PSG, holding the champions scoreless until the 82nd minute before Désiré Doué finally broke through.

The narrow defeat stretched Les Pirates’ winless run to seven matches, and there is probably some frustration in the fact they competed fairly well without getting rewarded.

Goals have become an issue. Éric Roy’s side failed to score for a second straight match and have now gone seven games without a clean sheet either, which says quite a lot about where the balance currently sits.

At Stade Francis-Le Blé, however, the picture is a little calmer. Brest lost only one of the last five home matches, winning three.

Ludovic Ajorque remains central to almost everything going forward, contributing seven goals and nine assists this season. Junior and Castillo should support him from wide areas again.

Bradley Locko misses out with a hamstring injury, while Soumaïla Coulibaly remains sidelined because of a shin problem.

Strasbourg’s recent form has not exactly inspired much confidence either. Le Racing have managed just one win in the last seven matches across all competitions, and even that run feels slightly kinder when you watch some of the performances closely.

Last weekend brought a 1-1 draw after Gary O’Neil’s side led at half-time through a Julio Enciso penalty. In another moment, perhaps a few weeks earlier, Strasbourg might have held on comfortably. Instead, the game drifted again. Still, ending a three-match losing streak probably mattered mentally more than tactically.

Away form, interestingly enough, has been stronger. Strasbourg are unbeaten in four Ligue 1 away matches and won the last two, which adds a bit of uncertainty heading into Brest. Martial Godo, with eight league goals, should continue up front alongside Sam Amo-Ameyaw, who adds energy more than pure numbers at times.

Injuries remain a concern. Joaquín Panichelli, Aarón Anselmino, and Emmanuel Emegha are all unavailable, limiting depth in attack and defence alike.
