A competitive Superliga contest can be expected on Monday evening with both teams coming to the fixture on the back of positive results last week.

Botosani returns to home comforts after a well-deserved point picked up on the road at DInamo Bucharest. Having picked up just 12 points from 15 road games last season, Leontin Florian Grozavu's men will have been delighted to claim a draw against a side that finished the last campaign with the third-strongest home record.

While high-scoring outcomes have not been especially frequent for the home side, two of their last three league fixtures finished with BTTS. Two of their three most recent matches also delivered the same outcome, while the last meeting between these sides finished as 1:1 draw. A similar outcome may be repeated this weekend with Botosani held to draws in both of their first two league fixtures this season. 

FC Unirea make the trip to Botosani with confidence raised after a thumping 6:1 win against FK Csíkszereda last weekend. The visitors bounced back from a 2:1 defeat at Cluj on the opening day of the new season with an impressive home victory. Ion Vladoiu's side won just three of 15 home games last season, while scoring only 15 goals. 

With both teams in high spirits,  we should see a decent contest where both sides are likely to make chances.

BTTS is my best bet, with a low-score draw perhaps the likeliest outcome at Stadionul Municipal.
