Albania are one of the teams that have never reached the World Cup in their history. In this Qualification cycle, they did great, finishing 2nd in a group with England, Serbia, Latvia, and Andorra. They've got the opportunity to play in the Playoffs to secure the WC, but lost 2:1 to Poland despite taking a 1:0 lead in the first half. However, generally speaking, this team is on the rise, and the fact that they secured two Euros in the past three tournaments says a lot, especially since they have never qualified for a major tournament before those ones. 

A few players are not called for the upcoming friendlies due to injuries - Medon Berisha, Rey Manaj, Ernest Muçi, and their first-choice goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosha. 

Israel also failed to reach the World Cup and secure their second-ever appearance in the tournament. According to credible sources, Anan Halaili, Dor Peretz, Dan Biton, Tai Baribo, and Sagiv Yehezkel should miss the match due to injuries or to get extra rest after an exhausting season.
