Mark Robins’ Coventry marched on to face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi finals. Robins recalls how he has saved Sir Alex Ferguson’s job back in 1990 as a player - and could now cost Erik Ten Haag’s his, as a manager.

"It was my breakthrough season, to score a goal in the FA Cup third round is something you do look back on with fondness," Robins was quoted.

"Anybody scoring in the FA Cup is special. I thought this was normal, this is great, winning the FA Cup was the last time I played in a final. That is a slight regret.” 

The Mark Robins FA Cup goal was crucial in helping Sir Alex Ferguson stay in the Manchester United hot seat.

The sports career of Mark Robins saw him play in England and on loan stints abroad, such as Denmark. 

While the Mark Robins Coventry era oversaw a consistent challenging for a playoff spot in the EFL Championship, as well as now reaching the FA Cup semi finals.

Sir Alex Ferguson went on to take the mantle in one of Manchester United’s best and most iconic seasons in the club’s history.
