Arguably one of the biggest fights in British boxing history is finally upon us. Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will face each other on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Both former world champions are now pushing 40, with Fury aged 38 and Joshua 37.
Some might argue that this superfight has come several years too late, with both fighters already past their prime. However, the excitement surrounding this all-British clash remains huge, and the WBA "super" heavyweight world championship belt will be on the line. Read the article to learn about the Fury vs Joshua odds and MightyTips' expert prediction for this bout.

The Gypsy King enters the fight as the bookmakers' favourite, priced at 1.50 to win, while Joshua is the underdog at 2.62. Both fighters last stepped into the ring in July 2026, picking up victories against relatively weak opposition.
Fury defeated 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in Thailand, while Joshua recovered from two first-round knockdowns to stop Kristian Prenga in the second round.
After suffering two consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, Fury announced his retirement from boxing. However, the Gypsy King couldn't stay away from the ring for long and eventually made his comeback, fighting twice already.
His first fight back came against Arslanbek Makhmudov and lasted the full 12 rounds, although Fury later claimed he simply wanted to test his gas tank. He then faced 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in Thailand, in a fight that many probably haven't even heard about.
Looking back at his defeats to Usyk, the first was particularly painful, with Fury coming dangerously close to being knocked out. However, he delivered a much better performance in their rematch.
Fury is certainly past his prime, but his stamina remains impressive. Despite his enormous size, he can comfortably go the full 12 rounds without slowing down too much. He might not possess devastating one-punch knockout power, but he's still a heavyweight, and an unusually fast and mobile one for his size.
| Date | Opponent | Result |
| 24.07.2026 | Mariusz Wach | Won by retirement - 3:00, R7 |
| 11.04.2026 | Arslanbek Makhmudov | Won by decision (unanimous) |
| 21.12.2024 | Oleksandr Usyk | Lost by decision (unanimous) |
| 18.05.2024 | Oleksandr Usyk | Lost by decision (split) |
| 28.10.2023 | Francis Ngannou | Won by decision (split) |
There was a real chance we might never see Joshua step into the ring again after the tragic incident in Nigeria in December 2025, shortly after his fight against Jake Paul. Thankfully, AJ returned to the ring this summer and picked up a victory over Kristian Prenga.
However, that performance raised more questions than it answered. Joshua was dropped in the opening seconds of the first round and had to recover from another knockdown before stopping Prenga in the second. If we put his fight against Jake Paul aside, AJ has now been knocked down early in his last two fights, which is a worrying sign.
Joshua seems to be getting hurt by opponents who shouldn't be causing him so much trouble. His punch resistance has become a serious concern, especially ahead of a fight against someone as experienced as Fury.
Despite all that, AJ still possesses tremendous punching power and precision. He is a patient fighter who waits for openings and knows how to make the most of them when they appear.
Usyk has already shown that Fury can be caught and hurt, and Joshua will certainly study every second of those fights to find weaknesses he can exploit. If AJ manages to land one of his trademark combinations cleanly, he is more than capable of putting Fury in serious trouble.
| Date | Opponent | Result |
| 25.07.2026 | Kristian Prenga | Won by KO - 2:43, R2 |
| 19.12.2025 | Jake Paul | Won by KO - 1:31, R6 |
| 21.09.2024 | Daniel Dubois | Lost by KO - 0:59, R5 |
| 08.03.2024 | Francis Ngannou | Won by KO - 2:38, R2 |
| 23.12.2023 | Otto Wallin | Won by retirement - 3:00, R5 |
Both fighters deserve plenty of credit for finally making this fight happen. In my opinion, this is a genuinely unpredictable matchup, especially considering that neither Fury nor Joshua has shown their full potential in recent fights.
Their last opponents were hardly the toughest tests, but this time the stakes are much higher. Both men know how important this fight is for their legacies, and I expect them to prepare as hard as possible. Fury and Joshua might be past their prime, but they are still two extremely dangerous heavyweights.
I don't want to pick a winner here because it would be a lie to say I'm confident in either fighter's victory. Fury has the speed and movement, while Joshua still possesses the power to end a fight with one clean shot.
However, looking at Joshua's recent performances and his worrying tendency to get dropped early, I believe there is value in backing him to touch the canvas at least once.
