After finishing fourth in three consecutive seasons, SJK have experienced a significant decline this year. The club from Seinajoki has collected just 11 points from their opening 13 league matches, and unless they improve significantly, Jarkko Wiss' side could find themselves battling to avoid relegation for the remainder of the campaign. The last few weeks were tough for SJK, with only one win in the last six matches. In the previous game, they played 2-2 on the road against Ilves. Despite being the better side for large spells, they let a two-goal lead slip after a disastrous start to the second half, ultimately having to settle for a point.

SJK's head coach, Jarkko Wiss, was pleased with a draw in the previous game. He commented, "It was a very tight and evenly contested game that swung from end to end. Ilves had one player who, through his individual quality, was clearly able to create danger. Otherwise, it was a very balanced and hard-fought match. Then we made a few mistakes, which forced us to switch to a more direct approach and chase the equalizer. Fortunately, we were clinical towards the end of the game."

Albin Bjorkskog is injured and will not play on Saturday afternoon. Also, Prosper Padera is questionable, and his status will get clearer closer to the kickoff.

TPS returned to Veikkausliiga this season and their primary goal is to avoid another relegation. Ivan Pinol's team is on a good course, collecting an impressive 19 points so far. However, the last two months were tough for TPS, as they won only two of the last eight matches across all competitions. In the most recent outing, Pinol's team won 3-2 at home against Jaro. Although the hosts had to wait until late in the second half to score the winner, they controlled the game throughout and would have been extremely unlucky if the visitors had escaped with a point.

TPS are trying to improve their offense. According to rumors, Kian Visser, who previously played for Cambuur, is close to signing with TPS. Last season, the striker had one goal and one assist. 

Theodoros Tsirigotis is still nursing his injury, but could be ready for Saturday's game in Seinajoki.
