Shamrock Rovers come into Monday’s fixture looking to maintain winning form after a comfortable 2:0 win at Waterford last week. Dylan Watt gave the Rovers a first-half advantage before Michael Noonan’s late goal secured the points. 

Stephen Bradley’s side have enjoyed a strong domestic campaign, winning 13 and losing just five of 22 league fixtures. Shamrock currently sit top of the division, five points clear of nearest rivals St. Patrick’s Athletic. 

Recent form has been impressive, with nine wins in their last 13 league fixtures, including three of their last four matches.

Head coach Bradly remains without Daniel Mandroiu, who continues his recovery from a long-term cruciate ligament injury, while experienced striker Rory Gaffney is also unavailable due to an unspecified injury.

Derry City make the trip to Tallaght Stadium after another disappointing road defeat last weekend. Tiernan Lynch’s side slipped to a 2:1 reversal at Galway with Michael Duffy’s late goal proving consolation only. 

A dreadful road record has been the biggest issue for Derry this season. The Candystripes lost five and won just one of 11 away Premier Division fixtures. Recent away games have offered little encouragement, with three of their four most recent matches on their travels ending in defeat. 

Despite recent results - Derry have won just one of their last nine matches - remain sixth in the Premier Division, albeit 18 points behind league leaders Shamrock Rovers.

Derry boss Lynch could make some changes to his first XI this week. Liam Boyce and James McLean are among those pushing for a recall to the starting selection.
