- Competition: UEFA Conference League Qualifying - First Round 2nd leg
- Date: Thursday, 16th, July 2026
- Kickoff: 16:00 UK / 17.00 CEST
- Venue: Veritas Stadion (Turku)
The newly formatted 2026–27 UEFA Conference League qualification phase serves up a beautifully poised, high-stakes second leg on Thursday afternoon as Finnish hopefuls Inter Turku look to finish the job against Bosnian heavyweights FK Sarajevo.
The tie is finely balanced following a dramatic 1-1 stalemate in the reverse fixture at the Asim Ferhatovic Hase Stadium last Thursday, leaving both clubs exactly 90 minutes away from a spot in the second qualifying round.

The first-ever meeting between these two sides took place last week, but it failed to produce a winner as they played out a drab goalless draw.
Inter Turku team overview
Inter Turku return to southwest Finland with a respectable result from the first leg, although Vesa Vasara's men will undoubtedly feel they allowed a golden opportunity to slip through their fingers after failing to establish a commanding advantage that would have put one foot firmly in the second qualifying round of the Conference League.
The Black and Blues made the perfect start in the Bosnian capital, silencing a crowd of more than 10,000 home supporters when Alie Conteh fired them into an early lead, but their defensive resistance was finally broken in the cruellest possible fashion as they conceded a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in the 94th minute, leaving the tie finely balanced ahead of the return fixture.
Despite that late setback, Inter Turku remain in a favourable position thanks to their superior match sharpness and competitive rhythm, having already played a significant portion of their domestic campaign, while further confidence can be drawn from their outstanding record at Veritas Stadium, where they have yet to suffer a defeat on the artificial surface this season after recording eight victories and four draws.
To make matters even more encouraging for the Finnish outfit, Vasara has no injury concerns to contend with ahead of Thursday's decisive encounter, meaning he is expected to name an unchanged starting lineup following an impressive performance in Sarajevo.

Sarajevo team overview
Meanwhile, FK Sarajevo make the long trip to Scandinavia with a mixture of relief and caution after keeping their European hopes alive in the first leg, although there is still plenty for head coach Zoran Zekić to address ahead of the decisive 90 minutes, as his side's overall performance offered little encouragement despite avoiding defeat.
Even with a packed Stadion Asim Ferhatovic Hase firmly behind them, the Maroon-Whites struggled to find any real attacking rhythm for long periods of the contest and frequently looked short of sharpness in possession, but Barišić's dramatic stoppage-time equaliser rescued them from what would have been a hugely damaging defeat, while the failure to capitalise on home advantage has now shifted the pressure firmly onto their shoulders.
The challenge becomes even greater on Thursday, as Sarajevo must adapt to a fast artificial surface while still working their way towards full match fitness ahead of the start of their domestic campaign, and their record of just two victories from their last 10 European away matches does little to inspire confidence that they can rise to the occasion.
The visitors are expected to travel without only one first-team player, as Cypriot midfielder Rafail Mamas remains sidelined with a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury, with the long-term absentee not expected to return to action for at least another two months.

Prediction
We expect another neck-and-neck, high-octane encounter where thin margins will separate the winner heading to Turkey. While Inter Turku claims the upper hand with home advantage and superior match sharpness, Sarajevo brings far more continental experience and lethal individual quality upfront. Ultimately, we back the Maroon team to impose their rhythm, find the net at the right moment, and wrap up a narrow away win to advance into the next round.
Three Reasons we expect X2 (Double Chance)
- Inter Turku have won only two of their last six matches in all competitions.
- Inter Turku have kept just one clean sheet across their last five matches in all competitions.
- Sarajevo are unbeaten in their last six competitive matches.
