Orgryte vs Elfsborg prediction 29.05.2026 | Allsvenskan

After almost two decades, Orgryte returned to Allsvenskan, but it seems that they will have big problems surviving in the Swedish top flight. After nine rounds, Orgryte collected only five points and are at the bottom of the standings. The last few matches are not encouraging at all, too, as Andreas Holmberg's team lost the last four games in a row. In the previous match, Orgryte lost 2-0 on the road against Halmstad. Although they played solidly in that game, their poor efficiency and terrible defense cost them points again. 

A lot of things have to change in Orgryte if they are going to have a solid chance of surviving in Allsvenskan. Andreas Holmberg's side currently owns the second-worst attacking record in the league, while also being the weakest defensive team in the competition. However, it seems that the board still has confidence in the head coach, who will get at least a few more weeks to implement his ideas. 

Jerome Tibbling received another yellow card last week and will skip the upcoming tie. He will join already unavailable Aydarus Abukar, Rasmus Alm, and Charlie Vindehall, while Christoffer Styffe is questionable. 

Elfsborg could return among the best Allsvenskan teams this season. After ten league rounds, only a little better goal score separates them from the second position in the standings. However, Elfsborg have been far from their best lately, winning only once in their last six matches. In the most recent outing, Elfsborg played 1-1 at home against Hacken. The guests were a significantly better team, and the hosts should feel fortunate to have avoided defeat. 

Elfsborg's biggest strength this season is their defense, with nine conceded goals in ten matches. However, Elfborg scored only 14 and should look for solutions up front to compete with the best teams in the country. 

Per Frick and Ludvig Richtner are injured and will not play on Friday evening.
