FC Copenhagen vs Borussia Dortmund prediction 21.10.2025 | Champions League

FC Copenhagen are the greatest Danish team with 16 league titles. Last year, besides winning the league title, the popular Lions also managed to secure the Cup. Their goal for this year remains the same - to win all in the domestic competitions and make a deep run in Europe. However, their season thus far hasn't been the best. To be fair, one of the reasons for that is constant injuries. The Lions are now sitting in 3rd place in Superliga with four points behind first-placed Aarhus and with one game played more. And in the CL, the Lions are 28th out of 36 teams with only one point in the first two games. 

For the upcoming game against Borussia Dortmund, the team could miss up to seven players due to injuries. On the positive side, one of the players who missed the previous game, Mohamed Elyounoussi, will most likely be ready, and his presence should help them a lot since he has been their top goalscorer thus far. 

Last year, Borussia Dortmund managed to save the season with a great finish as they won five straight and barely secured the Champions League. This year, the Prussians started the season well, suffering their first loss of the season in the last match against Bayern Munich. Right now, they are in fourth place in the Bundesliga with 14 points in the first seven rounds. Unfortunately, Bayern Munich have already left them seven points behind as they managed to win all seven matches. In the CL, the Prussians did really well, winning four points in the first two rounds, and are currently in 7th place.

After a 2:1 loss vs Bayern Munich in the previous game, coach Niko Kovac spoke to the media. He said they played poorly in the first half but improved significantly after the break. The coach also said the refereeing criteria heavily favored Bayern, saying the referee "whistled down everything". Overall, he said it was a good match for both teams but regretted that they failed to capitalize on their second-half momentum.
