Cadiz vs Burgos prediction 20.10.2025 | La Liga 2

After 13th position in La Liga 2 last season, probably nobody expected Cadiz to be among the best teams in the competition. Although most tipped them to have another mid-table season, Cadiz collected 18 points in the first nine league rounds and are at the top of the standings with two points more than the following teams on the table, Deportivo La Coruna and Racing Santander. Cadiz lost only one game this season. In the most recent outing, they won 1-0 at home against Huesca. The home side recorded a victory, but that was far from an impressive performance. Cadiz have to do better to have a realistic chance of promotion.

Cadiz's head coach, Gaizka Garitano, praised Huesca at the press conference before the game. He said, "Ramis's teams are very good with and without the ball. They're perfect in terms of organization and difficult to break into. Every time we've played against them, we've struggled. It will be a typical match for this division: very complicated. They could have gotten better results than their recent ones. We have to respect them a lot, but we must be more concerned about ourselves to have a better chance of winning."

Alfred Caicedo and Fali are injured and will not play against Burgos on Monday night.

Since joining La Liga 2 in 2021, Burgos have always been a mid-table team. It seems that nothing has changed for the 2025/26 season, either, as Burgos collected a solid 12 points in the opening nine league rounds. However, Luis Miguel Ramis' team recently slowed down with two defeats in the previous two matches. In the last game, they lost 1-0 at home against Valladolid. Neither of the two teams showed much, but the guests found a way to leave Burgos empty-handed.

Burgos' head coach, Luis Miguel Ramis, talked about Cadiz ahead of the match. He said, "It's no coincidence that they're leading. This is a team built by Gaizka (Garitano), a team that's worked hard and where the players are committed to what they're doing. They've assembled a rigorous, well-rounded, and well-balanced squad."

Burgos will be without Ivan Chapela and Marcelo Exposito in the upcoming clash.
