Argentina team overview
Argentina face their final World Cup warm-up fixture after a routine 2:0 victory against Honduras at Kyle Field last weekend. Lautaro Martinez and Giuliano Simeone were among the goals are the world champions eased to a straightforward win.
Lionel Scaloni’s side have been in excellent form coming into the defence of the world title. Argentina won 11 and lost just one of their last 13 games. More recently, they picked up victories in each of their last six matches.
Defensively strong, Scaloni’s side kept clean sheets in six of their last eight matches, while they have conceded only four goals in 13 games played since September 2024.
Head coach Scaloni could make some changes to the side that claimed victory against Honduras. Lionel Messi is likely to feature from the bench after he was an unused sub against the Hondurans.
Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez is also in contention for a return to the Albiceleste selection after missing out last weekend.

Iceland team overview
Iceland arrive in the United States after a painful 1:0 defeat against Japan last weekend. Falling foul of new FIFA directives regarding delayed substitutions, the Icelandics conceded the only goal of the game while temporarily reduced to ten men.
Now ranked 75th in the world - 72 places behind Argentina - Arnar Bergmann Gunnlaugsson’s men have been unable to find any kind of winning form in the last two years. Iceland lost nine while winning just three of their last 15 international fixtures.
More recently, the Strákarnir okka lost three of their last five games. They also failed to score in all three defeats, and thye could again struggle to breach a strong Argentine defence this week.
Head coach Gunnlaugsson is expected to make changes to the side that lost to Japan. Fiorentina forward Albert Guðmundsson is among those likely to earn a recall to the first XI.

Prediction
Argentina should remain solid in a likely workmanlike victory against Iceland at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
I have my money on BTTS - No on Tuesday.
Three Reasons Why We Expect BTTS - No

- Iceland failed to score in 3 of their last 5 matches
