Fight night is nearly upon us - Canelo Alvarez puts his four super middleweight championships on the line against undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 30.

In this corner: Canelo Alvarez
Canelo Alvarez, born Santos Saúl Álvarez Barragán, is the fighting pride of Mexico and will go down as one of the sport's greatest-ever participants.
He turned professional as a 15-year-old and debuted in 2005 with a KO victory over Abraham Gonzalez. The reason he was taking on fully-formed men? They couldn't find anyone in his age group who could come close to providing a testing challenge. After steamrolling past Gonzalez, he went on to knock out 11 of 13 opponents in the first 19 months of his career.
His record now stands at 59-2-2, with 39 KOs. He is the first and only boxer in history to clinch the title of undisputed champion in the super middleweight category. This remarkable achievement included acquiring the WBA (Super), WBC, and Ring magazine titles in 2020 and capturing the IBF and WBO titles in 2021.
His career has been littered with thrilling contests, none more captivating than the series of fights against Gennady Golovkin last year, from which he emerged victorious - albeit somewhat controversially.
Watch out for his hooks to the body - he can knock the wind out of any fighter.

Jermall Charlo is an American professional boxer renowned for his precision and power in the ring.
Born on May 19, 1990, in Richmond, Texas, Charlo has built an impressive career since making his professional debut in 2008. He has captured multiple middleweight titles along his journey and boasts an unbeaten record.
Charlo's boxing style is characterised by his aggressive approach and technical proficiency, which has helped him secure victories against many esteemed fighters such as Sergiy Derevyanchenko. His career's pinnacle came when he was crowned the WBC Middleweight Champion with a knockout win over Hugo Centeno Jr., solidifying his place among boxing's elite.
Alvarez, a seasoned and highly decorated boxer, will undoubtedly be a stern test for Charlo. While Alvarez has more extensive championship experience, Charlo's undefeated record and power-packed punches could tilt the balance in his favour. However, it's pivotal for Charlo not to underestimate Alvarez's versatility and tactical acumen. Canelo will win the fight, but why am I giving such a prediction?
There are three factors which monumentally increase my confidence in the outcome.
Recent form. It's been over a year since Charlo last boxed, whereas Canelo had two fights against elite opponents.
Charlo is climbing two weight classes. As he said not too long ago, he's losing speed every time he transitions into another weight class. He found a solution in a balance between striking power and speed, but the effectiveness of that strategy will be on full display in this fight.
Canelo's experience. Despite Charlo being an undisputed champion, his opposition wasn't on the level of Canelo's opponents.
To win against Canelo, Charlo needs to be in his best mental and physical condition. He has to keep to the plan in all rounds and not to follow his emotions. He has to constantly be on the move without spending much time in the middle of the ring while keeping long distances. He has to utilise jabs continually. Charlo can't trade blows with Canelo because the latter will outpunch him.
