Union Saint-Gilloise vs Anderlecht prediction 14.05.2026 | Belgian Cup

Union Saint-Gilloise established itself as one of the best teams in Belgium since its return to the Jupiler Pro League in the 2021/22 season. Last year, they won the Jupiler Pro League title and were great this year as well, putting themselves in a solid position to repeat. Three rounds before the end of the season, Les Unionistes are in 2nd place, just one point away from the top spot. After the Cup Finals match, they will face 1st-placed Club Brugge at home and have the opportunity to return to the top. So, the upcoming two games could very well decide the fate of their season. 

Kevin Rodriguez suffered an injury in the previous game against KV Mechelen and had to leave the field after 33 minutes. According to Belgian media reports, the 26-year-old Ecuadorian will likely miss the upcoming match. Besides Rodriguez, the team will miss Promise David, who is out with a long-term injury. 

Anderlecht, a 34-time Belgian champion, haven't been at an expected level this year. At the start of the season, they failed to qualify for the main phase of the Europa League and eventually for the Conference League as well. In the league, the Purple & White haven't been good from the start, and as the season progresses, they are only looking worse and worse. Right now, after winning only one point in the past four games, they are 4th. Even though they are in a solid position to secure Europe through the Cup or via league finish, their form is definitely worrisome. 

After a 1:1 draw with Gent in the previous game, coach Jérémy Taravel spoke to the media. He said it was an important match for both the standings and the team's confidence. The coach said they reacted well after going behind. Still, he said they lacked efficiency in the final phase and will have to address that.
