Serbia U19 come into their final Group B fixture looking to finish their campaign on a high after a disappointing start to the tournament.

Gordan Petric’s side suffered a 2:0 defeat against Italy U19 in their opening match. Serbia struggled to create clear chances as the Italians edged to victory. 

The Eastern Europeans then slipped to a 2:1 defeat against Ukraine, a result that ended their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals. 

Petric’s men have now lost each of their last four matches, scoring just two goals in the process. 

Head coach Gordan Petrić could make changes after the defeat against Ukraine, with Andrej Pavlović and Bogdan Kostić among those pushing for a place in the first XI.

Croatia U19 arrives in Caernarfon also looking for an improved performance after a poor start to the European U19 Championship.

Siniša Oreščanin’s side suffered a 3:1 defeat against Ukraine U19 in their opening fixture. Croatia were then held to a 0:0 draw by Italy U19 in their second Group B match, leaving them third in the section, three points behind the Italians. 

The Red and Whites have now failed to win their last four matches, scoring just two goals in the process. Over a longer period, the Croats have scored just four goals in their last six games, with five of those fixtures finishing with under 2.5 goals.

Croatia have shown they can compete at this level, but they will need to be more efficient in the final third if they are to claim the victory they need on Sunday.

Head coach Oreščanin has no reported injury issues.
