Nice enter the second leg under significant scrutiny following a disappointing end to their Ligue 1 season. Their inability to create chances in the opening leg further exposed the attacking problems that contributed to their downfall over recent months. Tuesday’s match marked another low-scoring outing for the Riviera side, who have struggled for consistency in the final third throughout 2026. They now face 90 minutes that could define the club’s immediate future. 

Despite their poor campaign overall, home advantage could still prove crucial. Nice have generally looked more organised defensively at their home ground, and the return of key attacking players such as Sofiane Diop and Morgan Sanson to full fitness has provided manager Claude Puel with additional options going forward.
