Hacken had a very bad last season, finishing 10th with only 35 points in 30 rounds. However, it seemed that this year would be different, as they had an amazing start, securing five wins and five draws in the opening ten games. Unfortunately, after a break in June, they really struggled to win, doing so once in the following six games. Now, they sit in 5th place with 25 points - just two points away from 3rd place and with one fewer game played. Therefore, this game against the worst team in the league is a must-win to return to the desired top three spots.

After a 3:0 loss to Hammarby, coach Jens Gustafsson spoke to the media. He said Hammarby completely dominated them, leaving them without a chance. The coach said they need to be more careful with the ball, citing it as the primary reason for the loss. 

Halmstad had three fairly similar seasons behind them, finishing 12th twice and 11th, while winning between 33 and 36 points. Still, they avoided relegation in those seasons, and that doesn't seem likely this season after the first 16 rounds. They had a very bad start, and the club tried to react by changing the coach, but it seemed they only got worse. At the moment, they sit in 16th (last) place with a mere seven points in 16 rounds and are 10 points away from the safe zone.
