Romanian top flight action returns this weekend as FC Rapid Bucuresti take on Sepsi OSK in Bucharest on Monday evening.
The hosts begin the new campaign looking for a positive start to their campaign afer a dismal end to last season while Sepsi arrive in the Romanian capital having secured promotion to the SuperLiga following a two-year absence.
With recent meetings between these sides often proving tight, another competitive contest could be on the cards.

Rapid Bucuresti team overview
Rapid Bucuresti face their first competitive fixture of the season after failing to win three successive warm-up fixtures in the past fortnight.
Daniel Pancu’s men began their pre-season preparations with a 3:1 win against Dynamo Kyiv but have since drawn two and lost one of their next three pre-season friendly fixtures.
Wins have been hard to come by for Rapid since the end of last season. The capital-based club failed to win any of their final nine league fixtures, collecting just three points during that miserable run.
Head coach Pancu has one confirmed absentee this week. Antoine Baroan is expected to miss out with an unknown injury issue.

Sepsi OSK team overview
Sepsi OSK makes the trip to Bucharest after securing automatic promotion to the SuperLiga in May.
Sepsi won three of their final six matches last season, including impressive victories against CSA Steaua and Corvinul Hunedoara to finish narrowly ahead of Voluntari.
A tough side to beat, OSK lost just two of 18 games played since last February.
Defensively sound, Sepsi should be well organised, while their recent H2H record against Rapid also gives them reason to believe they can take something from Monday’s matchup. The visitors are unbeaten in each of their last eight games against Rapid.
Head coach Valentin Suciu has no major injury issues reported.

Prediction
Rapid have struggled to find winning form in 2026, and a poor record in this fixture cannot be ignored.
With Sepsi in high spirits, I fancy the visitors to at least avoid defeat on Monday.
Three Reasons Why We Expect Sepsi to Win or Draw
- Rapid Bucuresti failed to win 12 of their last 13 matches
- Sepsi OSK are unbeaten in their last 8 matches against Rapid Bucuresti
- Sepsi OSK are unbeaten in 16 of their last 18 matches
