Last season, Estrela barely avoided relegation, finishing 15th, just two points away from direct relegation. Moreover, they avoided playing in the relegation playout only due to better H2H stats than 16th-placed Casa Pia. However, during the pre-season, they recorded a lot of good results and continued doing so in the official season. At the moment, Estrela are 9th with six points from four rounds and can definitely be satisfied with how things are going so far. 

For the upcoming game, coach Pepa will serve his one-game suspension after a red card in the previous round against Famicao. Additionally, midfielder Emerson Pedro Vanga suffered an injury in the previous game and had to leave the field after 32 minutes. However, he hasn't been among the better players this season, and his absence shouldn't be a big factor. 

Braga finished as the 4th-best team in Portugal, nowhere near "The Big Three", FC Porto, Sporting CP, and Benfica. The fact that 3rd-placed Benfica was 21 points away from Braga says a lot about the difference in quality between the Big Three and the rest of the league. However, this season, Braga started the season really well across competitions. In nine games thus far, they haven't lost a game, while also securing qualification for the Conference League main phase. Meanwhile, in the domestic league, Braga won seven points in the first three games and should be satisfied with their season thus far.

The team should have no new injuries, but Gorby, Denis Huseinbasic, Sikou Niakate, and, most importantly, Ricardo Horta should remain sidelined.
