Venezia return to Stadio Pierluigi Penzo after a hard-fought 1:0 defeat against high flying Como at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia last Sunday. 

Lucas Da Cunha converted a 43rd-minute penalty to secure the points for in-from home side. Davide Nicola's side failed to find an equaliser despite a spirited second-half display. 

Venezia have now lost three successive league matches without scoring a goal.

Low-scoring outcomes have been frequent for the Winged Lions. Four of their five home Serie A fixtures finished with under 2.5 goals scored. Nicola’s men scored just three goals in those matches. 

The struggling home side sit bottom of Serie A with only three points secured from ten fixtures. Venezia lost nine of their first ten fixtures, with a surprise 1:0 win against Napoli their only success in a dismal start to the campaign. 

Head coach Nicola has some selection issues this weekend. Thierry Correia, Marin Sverko and Bartol Franjic are ruled out with various injury issues while Andrea Adorante faces a late fitness test.

Udinese make the trip to Venice after suffering a disappointing 5:2 defeat against Roma at the Bluenergy Stadium on Saturday evening.

Kosta Runjaic's side conceded four first-half goals before Nicolo Zaniolo and Matteo Palma scored after the interval. Daniele Ghilardi added a fifth for Roma in stoppage time.

Saturday's loss extended Udinese’s winless run to eight games, with the out-of-form away side picking up just one Serie A point in that period. 

The Zebrette sit 19th in Serie A with just five points picked up from ten games.

While the visitors scored twice against Roma, they had bagged just one goal in five previous fixtures. Udinese average just 1.1 goals per game this season. 

Runjaic's men's struggles in front of goal saw them held to a goalless draw at Parma in their most recent away fixture. 

Head coach Runjaic has several injury issues to deal with this weekend. Oumar Solet, Alessandro Zanoli, David Alaba, Idrissa Gueye and Vakoun Bayo are expected to miss out.
