Cuiaba vs America MG prediction 03.07.2026 | Serie B

After relegation from Serie A two years ago, Cuiaba established itself as a mid-table team in the second tier of Brazilian football. After 15 rounds in the current campaign, Eduardo Barros' team is five points behind the promotion playoffs, but also the same number of points ahead of the relegation zone. Either a good or a bad performance could significantly affect Cuiaba's position. Recently, Barros' team played well with only one defeat in the last five matches. In the previous game, they played 2-2 at home against Londrina. The hosts deserved more, as they ended with 67% ball possession and 17 shots on goal. 

Although Cuiaba are the second-best defensive team in the competition, they struggle heavily on the other side of the pitch. Barros' team scored only 11 goals in 15 league rounds and has to add more firepower in the upcoming transfer window. Recently, there were speculations that Cuiaba are interested in Carlinhos (Flamengo), Pedro Henrique (Vitoria), and Fabio Gomes (Mazatlan). All three players are forwards and would be a huge addition to the team from Arena Pantanal. 

Cuiaba's Gabriel received a red card in the previous league match and will not play against America MG. Joao Araujo, Mateus Santos, Yamil Asad, and Eliel will miss the game due to injury, while Lorenzo and Hernandes are questionable. 

After two solid seasons in Serie B, America MG are facing possible relegation. They collected only six points in 15 matches and are at the bottom of the standings. America MG have been terrible lately, with five defeats in the last six matches. In the most recent outing, America MG lost 1-0 on the road against Operario PR. The hosts created xG of 1.95, while the visitors had only 0.72, so it would be pretty unfair if America MG managed to steal points from Ponta Grossa. 

America MG are at the same time the worst attacking and the second-weakest defensive team in Serie B. There is speculation that Umberto Louzer's team could add a few players in the upcoming transfer window. Still, America MG will need a great improvement to have a realistic shot at staying in the competition. 

Cassio is injured and will not travel to Cuiaba. Heitor, Wesley, and Yago Santos are questionable and their status will get clearer closer to the kickoff.
