June will mainly revolve around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with fans around the world following the biggest football tournament on the planet. However, the month will also feature several other major events across various sports. Read below to see what's coming up in June.

The 2026 NBA Finals will begin on June 4 and could run until June 20. Everything depends on how many games are needed to decide the champion in the best-of-seven series. The New York Knicks booked their place in the NBA Finals after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals. In the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs remain locked in a dramatic battle, with the series tied 3-3 and a decisive Game 7 set to determine who will join New York in the championship series.

Formula 1 will have three major races in June. The action starts with the Monaco Grand Prix on June 7, followed by the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on June 14. The month then closes with the Austrian Grand Prix on June 28 at the Red Bull Ring.

Mercedes have been the strongest team so far this season and currently lead the constructors' and drivers' standings. Kimi Antonelli has quickly become the breakout star of the year after already winning three Grands Prix. Ferrari remain close behind in the standings, while Red Bull and McLaren are still searching for more consistency heading into the busy summer period.

The 2026 Stanley Cup Final will take place throughout June and could run until June 21 if the deciding series goes the full seven games. The exact schedule will be confirmed closer to the final once the Conference Finals are completed.

The Vegas Golden Knights have already secured their place in the championship series after sweeping the Colorado Avalanche 4-0 in the Western Conference Final. It will be Vegas' third appearance in the Stanley Cup Final, having previously lifted the trophy in the 2022-23 season after defeating the Florida Panthers.

In the Eastern Conference, the Carolina Hurricanes are one win away from joining them. Carolina currently lead the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 in the series and can book their place in the Final with another victory.

UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 is shaping up to be one of the biggest combat sports events ever held. The historic card will take place on the White House South Lawn, with 4,500 private seats set up on the territory itself, while more than 80,000 fans are expected to watch from the nearby park area.

The main event will see Ilia Topuria defend his lightweight title against interim champion Justin Gaethje. The co-main event will feature Alex Pereira making his heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title. The seven-fight card will also include major UFC names such as Sean O’Malley, Derrick Lewis, and Michael Chandler.

The 2026 U.S. Open will take place from June 18 to 21 at the famous Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. It will be the sixth time the course hosts the tournament, which is widely considered one of the toughest tests in professional golf.

The event is known for difficult course setups, thick rough, and extremely demanding conditions. J.J. Spaun enters as the defending champion after winning the 2025 edition, while stars like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are expected to headline this year’s field once again.

The 2026 Wimbledon Championships will take place from June 29 to July 12 at the famous All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. As always, Wimbledon remains one of the biggest and most prestigious tournaments in world tennis, bringing the season onto grass courts after Roland Garros.

Jannik Sinner returns as the defending men's singles champion after winning the 2025 title, while Iga Swiatek is the reigning women's champion. Wimbledon 2026 will also introduce video review technology for the first time in tournament history, allowing players to challenge selected umpire decisions on the main courts.
