UEFA Europa League 2025/26 Predictions
The UEFA Europa League is the second-tier European club competition, and with a place in the Champions League for the winner, this tournament gets taken pretty seriously! There are many familiar teams involved in the Europa League, and with games taking place on Thursday night, this tournament provides a bridge between the Champions League and the weekend’s fixtures.
There are numerous top clubs from the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga involved, and with 38 teams entering the league stage, there are loads of matches taking place each week. Who will win the Europa League? Prediction from MightyTips
There are plenty of seasoned European contenders in the 2025/26 campaign, including former winners Feyenoord and Porto. We also have the most celebrated coach in the tournament history, Unai Emery, going for his fifth triumph. The Spaniard has won three Europa Leagues in succession between 2014 and 2016 with Sevilla, and added another trophy in 2021 with Villarreal.
In fact, his Aston Villa are the team to beat at 5.00, according to the bookies. Roma, who are also doing well in Italy, are the second favourites, having reached the final in 1991 and 2023. Porto are in third, having claimed the trophy in each of the two past decades. In fact, all of the top-10 favourites represent the strongest five European leagues. However, there's always room for surprise in this tournament - just remember that Rangers were runners-up in 2022, while Dnipro lost the final in 2015.
Given Emery's pedigree and Aston Villa's form in the English Premier League, it's really hard to go against the Lions. We also believe that counting Nottm Forest out would be a mistake, even though they are currently struggling at the domestic stage.
Still, our prediction is that Aston Villa will win their first major European title since 1982.

Europa League final prediction
It would've been so much easier to predict the finalists if we'd known the full knockout phase bracket from the Round of 16 onwards. We won't even mention that some teams will have an extra hurdle, playing in the knockout round play-offs. Yet we will still try to predict which teams will contest the final at the Beşiktaş Stadium in Istanbul on May 20, 2026.
Obviously, we will name Aston Villa as the first finalist because we tip them to win the whole tournament. Roma, Nottingham Forest, and Lyon are all looking worth taking a shot at to reach the final. However, our choice is different. Porto are leading the Liga Portugal with an astonishing goal difference; they have a strong squad with a decent bench and a hungry coach in Francesco Farioli.
We predict that Aston Villa will play Porto in the 2025/26 Europa League final.
UEFA Europa League format
The Europa League changed format at the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign, with the 32-team group stage replaced by a 36-team league phase. Although it took a few weeks for bettors to acclimatise to this new setup, it was widely regarded as a success, and UEFA have opted to maintain the same format for the 2025-26 campaign.
To make successful Europa League predictions, it’s essential to prepare your research in advance. Knowing when each set of fixtures will take place is of the utmost importance, allowing you plenty of time to place your bets.

Qualification Stage
The tournament officially begins in July with the qualification stage. Teams from lower-ranked countries compete against one another, with the winners advancing to the play-off rounds. These consist of two-legged games, which are typically held at the end of August. The winners will progress to the league stage of the Europa League, which commences in September.
League Stage
The league stage, which replaced the group stage in 2024, consists of 36 teams, with each side playing eight games, four at home and four away. Opponents will be decided by seedings, and all of these matches will be played between September and January.
Knockout Stage
At the end of this stage, the top eight teams will automatically progress to the round of 16. Sides who finish between 9th and 24th will contest in the knock-out play-offs, with each of the winners going through to compete in the knock-out stages.
The 16 teams will then be whittled down with each round until the final two are left standing. The final is traditionally held on a Wednesday night at the end of May at a pre-determined venue.
