The 2025/26 season is one of the best in St. Truiden's history. They will finish third in the Championship group and debut in the Europa League next year. Recently, St. Truiden played well, as they were on a run of four games in a row without defeat. The positive streak ended last weekend, when Wouter Vrancken's team lost 2-0 on the road against Club Brugge. The visitors were completely outplayed, and they never had a real chance of avoiding defeat. For St. Truiden, the season is practically over, but every player will see the upcoming games as a good opportunity to secure a better status for the next year. 

The big question for St. Truiden is whether Wouter Vrancken continues his job at Daio Wasabi Stayen. There are some speculations that he is one of the primary candidates for the head coach position at Lorient. Also, some Belgian media suggest that Anderlecht should reach for Vrancken. 

St. Trudien have almost a full squad available for Saturday's game. They will be without Arbnor Muja and Ryan Merlen, while Rihito Yamamoto is questionable, and his status will be clearer closer to the kickoff. 

Gent have another solid season. They are part of the Championship group but, with two points fewer than the Conference League playoff, could easily miss out on European football. Gent's recent form isn't very encouraging, as they are winless in their last seven matches. In the previous game, Gent played 1-1 at home against Anderlecht. That was a perfect opportunity for all three points, as guests played with ten players in the second half, but the hosts' inefficiency cost them two valuable points.

Gent's assistant head coach, Mbaye Leye, who led team in the second half of the previous game, was disappointed with only one point. He said, "For us, it was important to make the difference in the second half; we should have taken more risks with possession. You have to be more efficient with the ball, make moves, and deliver crosses."

Gent have problems with missing players. They will be without Abdoul Ayinde, Gilles de Meyer, Mohammed El Adfaoui, Maksim Paskotsi, Matisse Samoise, and Siebe Van Der Heyden on Saturday in Sint-Truiden.
