Karl Robinson’s side have been in solid form in recent weeks, with five wins and just one defeat recorded in their last eight fixtures. Salford finished their League Two campaign fourth in the division, five points clear of seventh-placed Grimsby.

Past encounters against the Mariners will give the home side some cause for concern this week. Grimsby claimed victories in both of their two regular season contests, including a 2:0 win at this venue last year. 

Head coach Robinson has two expected absentees this weekend. Josh Austerfield is ruled out through injury, while Ollie Turton is also unavailable.
