Córdoba vs Albacete prediction 15.05.2026 | La Liga 2

Cordoba have consistently improved over the past few years. From a team that played in the fourth tier in 2021/22, they became a team that battles to secure La Liga 2 playoffs. Unfortunately, a terrible period between mid-February and late March, when they won just one point in eight games, will most likely see them fail to reach the playoffs. Even so, they are currently the hottest team in the league, although overcoming a five-point deficit to 6th-placed Castellon with three rounds to go seems pretty unreal. 

Striker Diego Percan received a red card in the previous game against Granada and will be suspended. On the other hand, Theo Zidane served his one-game suspension and is available. 

When it comes to injuries, Adrian Fuentes and Alberto del Moral are the new names on the list after sustaining injuries in the previous game. Moreover, Adilson Mendes-Martins and Franck Fomeyem should remain sidelined with their injuries.

Albacete finished 13th and 10th in the previous two seasons and are around a similar placement this year as well. With three rounds to go, they sit in 12th place with 53 points and cannot move to the playoff spots or to the relegation zone. Considering that many football pundits considered them to be close to the danger zone, they should probably be satisfied as they are 17 points away from it! 

However, the highlight of the season was definitely in the Coppa del Rey, where they made a massive upset by eliminating Real Madrid in the 1/8 Finals. The team from La Mancha followed that with a (fairly) close 2:1 loss against Barcelona in the Quarter-Finals. 

Jose Lazo served his one-game suspension in the previous game and will be available. Meanwhile, Edward Cedeno, Higinio Marin, Agus Medina, Antonio Puertas, and Victor Valverde should remain sidelined with their injuries.
