Manchester City turn their attention to the FA Cup after a well-deserved midweek Premier League win against Burnley. Erling Haaland’s early goal proved the difference as Pep Guardiola’s side edged to a narrow 1:0 win.

The Citizens have found some of their best form in recent weeks, securing five successive victories, including a pair of huge wins against Arsenal in the Premier League and FA Cup. Their midweek win at Turf Moor leaves them top of the EPL, ahead of the Gunners on goal difference. 

While the hosts have tightened up defensively in recent victories, City conceded at least one goal in six of their last ten fixtures. 

Head coach Guardiola has three players set to miss out this weekend. Joško Gvardiol (broken leg), Rodri (physical discomfort) and Rúben Dias (hamstring) are all ruled out through injury.

Southampton arrive at Wembley with their hopes of Championship promotion hanging by a thread after a 2:2 draw with Bristol City earlier this week. Ross Streward stepped off the bench to rescue a point for the Saints.

Despite extending their unbeaten run to 20 matches, Tonda Eckert’s side now sit three points behind second-placed Millwall with just two games to play.

The Saints have been in superb form this year, winning 16 of their 20 unbeaten fixtures, including eight successive victories before their draw against Bristol City. 

Usually a reliable side in front of goal, Southampton have scored at least once in each of their last 22 matches and will be confident of troubling their Premier League opponents this weekend. 

Head coach Eckert has two confirmed absentees ahead of the trip to Wembley. Alex McCarthy (hand) and Mads Roerslev (Achilles) are both ruled out through injury.
