Genoa vs AC Milan prediction 17.05.2026 | Serie A

Genoa face their final home fixture of the season after back-to-back goalless draws picked up on the road at Atalanta and Fiorentina. 

Daniele De RossI’s side have now failed to score in each of their three matches, after a 2.0 home reversal against Como in their last game at Luigi Ferraris.

Placed 14th in the division, the hosts have found some decent form in recent weeks, securing four wins while losing three of their last nine Serie A matches. By comparison, visiting Milan have picked up just 11 points over the same period.

Low-scoring outcomes have been frequent for the Griffin. Six of eight previous fixtures finished with under 2.5 goals scored. Four of the last six meetings between Genoa and AC Milan also finished with two goals or fewer. 

Head coach De Rossi has three injury worries for Sunday’s Serie A contest. Brooke Norton-Cuffy (muscle) and Junior Messias (muscle) are ruled out through injury, while Tommaso Baldanzi is doubtful with a muscle issue.

AC Milan make the trip to Genoa after a disappointing 3-2 home defeat against Atalanta last weekend. Trailing 3:0 late on, goals from Strahinja Pavlović (88') and Christopher Nkunku (90+4', pen.) proved consolation only as Max Allegri’s side slipped to defeat at San Siro. 

The Rosoneri have been in dismal form since claiming bragging rights in the Derby della Madonnina in March. Milan lost five and won only two of their last eight Serie A fixtures. 

Despite their dramatic dip in form, Allegri’s men remain inside the UCL qualification zone. Milan find themselves fourth in Serie A, but now only two points ahead of sixth-placed Como with two games still to play. 

On the road, low-scoring outcomes have been a recurring theme in recent weeks. Each of the visitors' last five away fixtures finished with under 2.5 goals scored.

Head coach Allegri is unable to call on four first-team players this weekend. Alexis Saelemaekers, Pervis Estupiñán and Rafael Leão are all suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards, while Luka Modrić (collarbone) is ruled out through injury.
