Freiburg are playing a superb season across competitions! Yes, maybe they could have been a bit better in the Bundesliga, where they are in 8th place. They won 40 points and are two points behind 7th place, which would mean Europe this year. However, "Breisgau-Brasilianer" have been great in Cup competitions, reaching the EL and DFB Pokal semi-finals, where they will face Braga and  Stuttgart. However, the big number of games in the remainder of the season will definitely be a challenge, and it will be interesting to see how well they deal with it.

Central defender Philipp Lienhart suffered an injury in the previous game and had to leave the field after 71 minutes. It is an unfortunate moment for the 29-year-old as he started playing really well after dealing with abdominal strain from January to mid-March. Additionally, Max Rosenfelder and Patrick Osterhage should remain sidelined with their injuries. 

Heidenheim barely avoided relegation last year, having to go through the relegation playout. However, this year, they are in a really difficult situation. They are in last place with 19 points from 29 rounds - four points away from relegation playout and nine away from the safe zone. To be fair, they were in a much more difficult situation only three rounds ago, but with five points in those matches, they gave some signs of life. With only five rounds left, the bookies do not trust them, offering odds of only 1.01 on relegation! 

Benedikt Gimber is the newest name on the injury list. The midfielder suffered an injury against Borussia M'Gladbach and missed out on the Union Berlin game. He will most likely miss the upcoming game, as will Sirlord Conteh, Leart Paqarada, and Mikkel Kaufmann Sorensen, who are out with injuries.
