After a third Serie A position last season, Atalanta surely expected more from the current campaign. They lost their form in recent weeks, and now the team from Bergamo is four points behind the position that could bring them the Conference League. Atalanta won only two of the last ten matches across all competitions. In the most recent outing, Raffaele Palladino's team played 1-1 on the road against AS Roma. The hosts were better, but Atalanta defended well and eventually took home one point. 

Atalanta's head coach, Raffaele Palladino, was satisfied after a draw over the weekend. He said, "It was an open match, and frankly, either side could've won it, as we had the chances to go 2-0 up, and then they had opportunities in the second half. We take this point and feel it is probably the right result."

Atalanta have almost a full squad available. Isak Hien and Kamaldeen Sulemana are the only ones to miss Wednesday's tie. 

The 2025/26 season is the worst for Lazio in more than a decade. They are a mid-table team, and that is unlikely to change in the rest of the campaign. Lazio played well recently, with only one defeat in the last seven matches. In the previous game, Maurizio Sarri's team won 2-0 on the road against Napoli. In what was probably the best performance of the season, Lazio had significantly better goal-scoring chances, and anything other than their victory would be undeserved. 

After three points in Naples, Lazio's head coach, Maurizio Sarri, said that his team had made only one mistake in the last six weeks (the game against Fiorentina). He also added that there are signs of improvement from both individuals and the team. 

Lazio will be without Adam Marusic, Ivan Provedel, Nicolo Rovella, Samuel Gigot, and Alessio Furlanetto on Wednesday in Bergamo. Also, Manuel Lazzari is questionable, and his status will be clearer closer to the kickoff.
