Bonus offers and promotions
While writing this YesPlay review, we found a total of 4 promotions. Just choose the “Promotion” tab on the main menu to find them. Let’s analyse these bonuses.
Welcome bonus
To qualify for a 100% Deposit Bonus, you must deposit at least R20 within 7 days of registration. Depending on how much you deposit, you can win up to R3,000 from this bonus.
YesPlay's welcome offer is a hybrid bonus, which means you can use the funds on both sports and casino games. Sports events with 1.95 or greater odds are eligible for wagering. Speaking of this, you must complete the 7x wagering requirement (deposit plus bonus) within 7 days.
Even though the wagering requirement is very lenient, always double-check the terms and conditions before claiming any bonus.
Other promotions
After you finish wagering the welcome bonus, you may choose from the following ongoing promotion at YesPlay:
- 10% Loyalty Cashback: The promotion period runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59. While wagering on events with 2.00 or higher odds, if you lose at least R100, you’ll be eligible for a 10% cashback. The deposit and bonus amounts are subject to 3x wagering.
You may also find short-term promotions targeting high-value events. For example, you may get a chance to win tickets for an F1 Grand Prix event.

We find YesPlay’s promotions to be versatile and up-to-date. The operator tries to diversify its promotion portfolio throughout the year. Also, you can easily read the details from the bonus cards.
Rewards and loyalty programs at YesPlay
During our research, our experts didn’t find any mentions of VIP or loyalty programs anywhere on the website or app. But a brief chat with a support agent revealed the team is looking into loyalty points or VIP perks in the near future. So, stay tuned for that.
YesPlay Licensing & security information
YesPlay's website is designed from the ground up for the South African audience. The brand is owned and operated by SA Sportsbook Ltd. The license is registered by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (license number 10180204-012). Among other authorities, we’ve found:
- National Gaming Board
- National Responsible Gambling Programme
- Financial Intelligence Centre
Overall, we’re impressed with the bookmaker’s efforts to secure the platform. However, it’s good to note that YesPlay scored a poor 1.8 rating on the popular review platform, TrustPilot. Negative reviews most involve issues with late withdrawals or platform glitches that resulted in higher bets than intended.
Usability and user experience
We found the YesPlay platform very easy and intuitive to use. You can easily sign up, deposit, and start betting with your preferred product. It’s easy to distinguish between sports, slots, lucky numbers, casino games, etc., features on the main menu. Now, let’s look into the site’s navigation and design features.
Navigation
We believe navigation on the YesPlay website and app is simple yet effective. The main menu brings all major features in one place. Information regarding the mobile apps, T&Cs, regulations, betting rules, etc., is clearly visible in the footer section. All the download buttons for mobile applications are located right below the footer.
Once you’re logged in, you can quickly manage your bet slip, payment methods, and promotions. Features like live betting and streaming, cash out, etc., are easy to find as well. In our experience, none of the pages returned any errors.
Design
Compared to many modern betting sites we’ve reviewed, YesPlay’s website design features a simpler theme and layout. While it may not be mind-blowing to look at, you can expect fast loading times. Also, this makes navigation buttons pop. The texts are easy to read. The site uses very little transition, but it’s used beautifully to enhance the aesthetic appeal.
- Advantages
- Live betting and streaming
- Native apps for Android and iOS
- 24/7 live chat
- Chance to participate in international lotteries
- Limitations
- No VIP/Loyalty Programme
YesPlay App
We found all 4 buttons for YesPlay’s mobile app in the footer section of the website. Or, you can click the “Mobile Application” tab to find the QR code to download. As online gambling is regulated in South Africa, you can download the apps directly from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively.
On top of that, YesPlay has gone above and beyond to feature the apps on the Galaxy Store (Samsung) and AppGallery (Huawei).
We’ve noticed that the apps on both Android and iOS are lightweight and optimised for small screens.
Besides the apps, we’ve also tested the mobile site. It’s equally competent and as fast as the desktop site. The interface adapts quickly. Overall, we’ve had a great experience with YesPlay mobile.
- Android app: Yes
- iOS app: Yes
Payment methods
To fund your YesPlay account, YesPlay allows you to use 16 payment methods. Among them, some of the most important ones are 1Voucher, OZOW Capitec Pay, Apple Pay, credit/debit card, OTT Voucher, Kazang, etc. Alternatively, you can request an EFT bank transfer. Only South African Rands (ZAR) are accepted for transactions.
Deposit methods
Besides the ones we mentioned, you can also use local payment methods like 1Voucher Direct, aCoin, BluVoucher, OZOW, SnapScan, Zapper, and SCode.
When we made deposits, they were credited within 5 minutes on average. Although the operator promises instant credit, even with EFT, it’s a good rule of thumb to do it at least 10 minutes before any big events. Also, if you wish to deposit with a cheque. Also, if you wish to deposit with a cheque, an administration fee of R50 or 5% of the deposit amount, whichever is lesser, may apply.
An important note is that you must always use payment methods registered in your name. If not, you’ll end up paying a R120 fee to return the money to that account.
- Minimum deposit: R20
- Maximum deposit: R5,000
Withdrawal methods
Withdrawal requests are processed electronically to valid South African bank accounts. If you don’t hold such an account, YesPlay will hold the money for 90 days. Also, any relevant betting tax is deducted in advance from your winnings. Besides bank transfer, you may also use Instant Money Voucher (FNB eWallet), ABSA CashSend, and Capitec Pay.
To enable YesPlay’s cash out feature, you must verify your account with KYC documents, such as your proof of residence, 3 months' bank statement and/or a bank confirmation letter. Additional FICA verifications are necessary for withdrawals over R25,000.
We’ve found that you get 2 free withdrawals every week (Monday-Sunday). For subsequent requests, you pay R10 per request. Also, YesPlay’s withdrawal times can take up to 48 hours.
- Minimum withdrawal: R100
- Maximum withdrawal: R100,000/day, R500,000/calendar month

Customer service
YesPlay’s customer support features a 24/7 live chat and email. Our experience with the chat has largely been positive. Initially, YesPlay’s chatbot, YeBot, answered questions based on our inputs.
Later, an agent was assigned to answer our questions. We asked a series of questions, and the agent responded to them within 10 minutes. The other support channel is email. Note that it may take up to 24 hours to get a reply this way.
Besides typical support channels, the “HELP” section on the website houses common queries and answers regarding your account, payments, rules, etc.
- Live chat: available 24/7

Sports betting overview
YesPlay in South Africa is a locally licensed operator with a sportsbook. Let’s dig deeper into our findings.
Sports coverage (19)
Our first note is that YesPlay’s sportsbook is somewhat limited in terms of coverage. You can bet on 19 sports. According to the top menu, they include:
- Soccer (Football)
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Tennis
- Baseball
- Volleyball
- Squash
- Boxing
- MMA
- Darts
- Badminton
When you expand the dropdown menu for each sport, you can see the available tournaments. This section changes depending on what time of the year it is. Renowned names include UEFA Nations League (football), Spain Liga ACB (Basketball), Indian Premier League (Cricket), etc.
Sports odds
Our analysis of YesPlay’s odds suggests that margins typically come within 5% to 7%. We took the Germany vs Portugal match from the UEFA Nations League and the RCB vs PK match from the IPL as examples. YesPlay’s margins for both matches came at 6.2% and 5.3% respectively.
Live betting and streaming
We’ve found that all available sports on YesPlay’s sportsbook feature live betting. Live streaming, however, is limited to selected events only. When looking at the markets, look for a small play button to activate YesPlay’s live streaming for that event.
YesPlay’s live betting odds change in real-time to reflect the match’s status. Popular sports for live betting include football, cricket, MMA, etc.
Limits
According to the terms of YesPlay, maximum bet stake limits are not set. The minimum bet starts at R1.00 only. Maximum winning per bet, on the other hand, is capped at R2,000,000.
Betting markets
You can access all the available markets for any given sport once you choose it. The list is quite extensive. Every day, the bookmaker features 5,000+ markets across its 19 sports. Some of the most popular markets include:
- Moneyline/outrights (for all sports)
- 1x2 (sports where a draw is a possibility)
- Over/under (all score-based sports)
- Correct score (all score-based sports)
- Handicap
- Exact goals by team (football)
You can easily explore the available sports and see what markets fit your needs the best.
Minimum/maximum deposits
The minimum deposit at YesPlay starts at R20 only. As of now, YesPlay doesn’t impose any maximum deposit limits on player accounts.
Casino overview
According to our findings, YesPlay’s casino has just over 1,000 games. You can choose from a wide range of slot games, RNG table games, live dealer games, crash games, lotteries, and BetGames. However, we’re not satisfied with the way games are organised on the site. Here’s why.
Software providers
YesPlay features games from reliable and trusted providers only, and the full list is extended to up to 20 of them. If you choose Slots, Casino Games, or BetGames from the menu, you get a submenu where either game types or software providers should be listed. YesPlay, however, decided to mix both. It’s problematic for new users who may not be familiar with how iGaming works.
Among the providers we found are:
- Evolution Gaming
- Ezugi
- One Rand
- Grand Prix
- Red Tiger
- BTG
- Spribe
- Pragmatic Play
- Habanero
Selection of casino games
For what it’s worth, YesPlay’s games are quite diverse and fun to explore. In terms of slots, you can play:
- Hot Hot Fruit YesPlay (exclusive)
- YesPlay Starburst (exclusive)
- 5 Lions Megaways
- Wild Beach Party
- Sweet Bonanza
- Nine Tails
- 777 Strike
- Big Bass Bonanza
Besides slots, you can participate in crash games, international lotteries, and BetGames. There’s also a search function you can use to find any particular title.
Live dealer games
We’ve already mentioned the improper sorting of games in the casino section. It becomes even more prominent when you look for live dealer games. They’re scattered under the “Casino Games” tab and the “BetGames” tab. It’s best to decide what game you want to play and search manually.
Some of the popular games we can find are Crazy Time, Skyward, Lightning Dice, Sweet Bonanza Candyland, First Person Blackjack, Auto-Roulette La Partages, etc. On another positive note, these games are mostly powered by reputable providers like Evolution Gaming, Ezugi, and Pragmatic Play.
Minimum/maximum deposits
You can find a table with minimum and maximum deposit limits for games on the T&C page. After carefully analysing that section, we found that the bet limits start at R0.50 and go all the way up to R50,000.
Registration at YesPlay
According to South African laws, you must be at least 18 to gamble online. Also, you must create an account with YesPlay, or any other operator before wagering real money. We find YesPlay’s registration process quick and simple. It should take around 2 minutes. Follow the steps:
- Visit the official website or download the app to press the “Sign In/Sign Up” button on the interface.
- Provide your registered phone number and press “Enter”.
- On the next page, create a strong password and press “Confirm”.
- Enter your SA ID and other personal information to finish the registration process.
- Alternatively, you can sign up using your Google or Apple account.
All information you provide is subject to KYC and FICA verification down the line. So, always provide accurate and up-to-date information.
Conclusion
We’re ending this review of YesPlay with mixed feelings. On the positive side, it’s a South African company run by locals to serve the locals. You can use ZAR to avoid conversion fees. A small drawback is the lack of any language other than English. We all know residents of South Africa speak many tongues.
In terms of other positives, you get 19 sports to bet on, which are all popular in the country. Tournament and market coverage are also great, paired with low-margin odds. Live betting and live streaming are both available for all sports. Mobile support is equal for Android and iOS users with native apps and an optimised website.
On the casino front, YesPlay’s offerings include a selection of 1,000+ RNG and live dealer games. But it lacks proper sorting to streamline the player experience. Besides, there are no YesPlay’s specials, like a VIP program at the time. Lastly, we’re worried about the poor player rating on TrustPilot.
Overall, YesPlay is not a bad option to choose. If it addresses the issues, we believe it can turn into a reliable betting site for the South African audience.
