York City begin their competitive campaign after sealing promotion back to the EFL last season.

The Minstermen enjoyed an outstanding National League campaign, finishing with 108 points to secure their promotion to League Two.

Monday’s hosts enjoyed a superb end to the season, winning eight and losing just one of their last ten league fixtures. 

However, there has already been managerial change, with Stuart Maynard leaving the club in the summer. Scott Lindsey has since taken charge.

Pre-season results have been mixed with two wins and three defeats recorded from six games played over the past month. All six games finished with over 2.5 goals scored, while five games saw BTTS. 

York City have strengthened their squad ahead of their return to the EFL, with Arthur Read, Zech Medley, Dipo Akinyemi, Mark Shelton and Charlie McArthur all arriving this summer.

Crawley Town make the trip to York looking to find some form after a tough run of results at the end of last season. 

Colin Kazim-Richards’ side failed to win 15 of their last 17 league games, including each of their last five fixtures. Crawley finished last season just one point above the relegation zone as they narrowly avoided relegation from the Football League. 

On the road, Crawley had the worst record in League Two last season, losing 14 and winning just three of 23 away fixtures. 

Pre-season began well with a narrow 1:0 win against Eastleigh, but the visitors have since suffered back-to-back defeats against Oxford (3:1) and Reading (1:0).

Crawley have also added several new faces this summer, with Malcolm Ebiowei, Jude Arthurs, Stephen Duke-McKenna, Priestley Farquharson and Gianmarco Di Biase all joining the club.
