USA make their way to Soldier Field in high spirits after a fine 3:2 friendly victory against Senegal earlier this week. Folarin Balogun stepped off the bench to secure a confidence-building victory for the Americans.

Before their hard-fought win at Bank of America Stadium, the US had suffered back-to-back friendly defeats against Belgium (5:2) and Portugal (2:0) in the March international break.

Usually involved in entertaining encounters, six of the Americans last seven games finished with both teams on the scoresheet, while a minimum of three goals were scored in all but one of their last six fixtures.

Head coach Pochettino is likely to make some changes to his starting XI this weekend. Folarin Balogun is among those tipped to earn a recall to the side.

Germany arrive in the USA after a dominant 4:0 win against Finland earlier this week. Deniz Undav impressed with VFB Stuttgart striker scoring twice in an easy win at MEWA Arena.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side have picked up some strong results in recent fixtures, securing eight successive victories since a 2:0 defeat against Slovakia last September. 

While usually reliable in defence, three goals conceded in a remarkable 4:3 win against Switzerland this year exposed some potential fragilities in the German defence. Four of their last six friendlies finished with both teams on the scoresheet and that outcome could be repeated against this weekend 

Head coach Nagelsmann has a strong squad available this weekend. Deniz Undav will hope to lead the line after his brace in Tuesday’s win against Finland.
