Slovan Bratislava vs Iberia 1999 prediction 29.07.2026 | Champions League qualification

Slovan Bratislava are a dominant force in Slovakian football. Last season, they won their eighth consecutive title in the domestic league and are a big favorite for another trophy in the 2026/27 season. On the international level, Slovan didn't have too many successes. While dominating in the national football, the team from Tehelne Pole appeared only once in the Champions League group phase. Last season, Slovan Bratislava played in the Conference League, where they eventually ended 29th.

In the last few seasons, Iberia 1999 slowly became one of the best teams in Georgia. They won two consecutive titles in the national league and now want to make another step forward and qualify for international football. Iberia has never won two rounds of the European qualifiers in a single season. In the current campaign, Andrey Demchenko's team already knocked out Estonian Flora from the Champions League qualifications. Still, after a 2-0 defeat in the first leg against Slovan Bratislava, it may be more realistic to continue their journey on a lower level. 

Iberia 1999 haven't impressed lately, with only two victories in the last five matches across all competitions. In the previous game, they won 3-1 on the road in the national cup against Margveti. Even that hardly qualifies as a good game, as Iberia expected a more comfortable victory against the team that is playing in the third level of national football. 

Iberia have big defensive issues lately. They conceded nine goals in the last five matches in all competitions. That is too much, and Demchenko's team will have to do much better to even have a chance for a surprise on Wednesday night in Bratislava.
