Pafos managed to win the title in 2024/25 but weren't as successful last year, "only" finishing 4th - 25 points away from the top spot! However, by winning the Cup, they pretty much saved the season. 

Over the season, the impression is that they improved the squad a bit. However, we cannot really say they were impressive overall. In four friendlies, they won once, and in three EL Qualifier games, they won once. Still, that home game against Hajduk in the previous round definitely gives them reason to be optimistic heading into the duel.

Left full/wing-back Ken Sema will miss the upcoming game due to suspension. The 32-year-old entered the field in the 46th minute and managed to receive two red cards by the end of the match. Besides suspended Sema, Domingos Quina is questionable after suffering an injury in the first leg. But according to speculations, he should be ready. 

Salzburg had a fairly solid last season, but completely crumbled in the Championship Group. They eventually finished 3rd, nowhere near the top two spots that leads to the Champions League Qualifiers. Over the Summer, their squad suffered pretty considerable changes, but they started the season fairly well, registering a 3-1-0 W-D-L record. 

Soumaila Diabate and Edmund Baidoo suffered injuries in the previous game against Pafos and had to leave the field. Both went on to miss the Wolfberger AC game on August 9th. However, according to credible sources, Baidoo should recover in time for the game, while Diabate will miss the next few weeks with an injury.
