Katowice vs Hapoel Tel Aviv prediction 12.08.2026 | Conference League

Katowice went from a 3rd-league team in the 2020/21 season to a team playing in the European Qualifiers in the 2026/27 season. Last year, they finished 5th and got the opportunity to play in Europe for the first time since the 2003/04 season! It was a massive success which nobody really expected.

Over the Summer, they improved the squad, and no important players left. However, we doubt they are capable of repeating last season's success and reaching Europe (main phase), especially after a poor performance in the first leg against Hapoel. 

After a 2:0 loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv, coach Rafał Górak spoke to the media. He said they faced a good opponent and that two early mistakes made it difficult to secure a positive result. The coach insisted that the tie is not yet over and that he believes they can recreate a similar comeback like in the previous round against Zilina. 

Hapoel Tel Aviv had an interesting path in recent years as they suffered relegation in the 2023/24 season and then returned instantly. Then, they impressed in the previous season by securing 4th place, but could have done even better considering they really collapsed in the last part of the season. 

During the Summer, they improved the squad and are playing good football. They are undefeated in four games across competitions, and their games against Ludogorets were really impressive as they advanced despite being a considerable underdog. 

After a 2:0 win over Katowice, coach Elyaniv Barda spoke to the media. He was pleased with the performance but also noted they could have won by a bigger margin. The coach emphasized they need to stay focused because they expect a very tough fixture on the road in Katowice.
