Leganes vs Mirandes prediction 31.05.2026 | La Liga 2

After relegation from La Liga last season, Leganes could lose their status in the second tier, too. They are three points ahead of Mirandes, but if they lose on Sunday night, the visitors will remain in the competition due to a better head-to-head score. Leganes' recent form isn't particularly encouraging, as they've picked up only one point in their last six matches. In the previous game, Leganes lost 3-0 away to Cadiz. That was another tie in which the team from Estadio Municipal de Butarque showed too little up front and looked vulnerable defensively. With their season on the line, nerves are certain to be a major factor heading into the decisive clash on Sunday. 

Leganes were terrible lately, so they decided to sack Igor Oca and place their fate in the hands of Carlos Martinez. The new head coach already saved Leganes from relegation in 2023 and will now try to do the same. Before joining Leganes for only one game, Martinez was assistant head coach of the Saudi Arabian national team. 

Marcos Leiva and Jorge Saenz are injured and should be the only ones unavailable for Sunday's game. 

Only a year ago, Mirandes were competing in the promotion playoff final with dreams of reaching La Liga. Now, they find themself sitting three points behind Leganes, and must win on Sunday night to preserve their Segunda Division status and avoid a dramatic fall from promotion contenders to relegation victims in the space of a single season. Recently, Mirandes played well with only three defeats in the last 11 matches. In the most recent outing, Antxon Muneta's team won 3-1 at home against Granada.

Mirandes' head coach, Antxon Muneta, is optimistic about the upcoming game in Leganes. He commented, "We've prepared for every possible scenario. We're going into the game with complete confidence. If I could ask for one thing, it would be to keep a clean sheet because, since I've been on the bench, we haven't managed it. It seems like we're saying it jokingly now, but it's very serious because we've missed so many opportunities along the way. You always need two goals to win. It's a burden, and we always work towards that, and hopefully it will happen this week."

Mirandes have some problems with missing players, too. They will be without Siren Balde, Selvi Clua, and Alberto Mari, while Pablo Perez is questionable.
